From Light to Sound: Microcosmic Music
Hearing Music of the Spheres on an atomic level is possible because of the intimate, vibratory relationship between light and sound. Both mediums resonate, are measured in Hertz, and can be ‘mapped’ from one to the other. Light frequencies then become ‘tones,’ and the relationships or intervals between the tones can be realized in sound. When adjusted to the registers of the human ear, this process offers an exciting and unusual glimpse into the often haunting, beautiful whispers of the invisible world within.
Composer/researcher SA will present her work with the frequencies of molecular elements and DNA, which has resulted in original tuning systems and compositions.
